The constant mesh, or, How i learned to respect transmission repairmen

In today's class i learned that transmissions are difficult to rebuild. Sure, getting them into place is easy, but to function correctly and put the cases back together... that is a challenge.

Looks like a TW or XT trans

Quite possibly. I haven't looked into what it came from yet. I pulled it off the parts shelf because it was an air cooled twin with shaft drive. Closer to my own (BMW R1200R) than the water cooled inline fours.

Update: At the next class we actually managed to get the transmission back together again, and it appears to work!
