The Vespa has a slow leak in the rear tire so we've been doing gas station runs every few nights to top it up until i have time to diagnose the problem.

Dan, I use a bicycle tire pump on my R1200R's tires. If you've got a bike pump, it should work on the Vespa.
My mini hand pump is too big to fit i the small space between the valve and the exhaust. Those little Vespas have maybe 2" clearance. I should get something with a better end... or fix the tire.
