Night wash

I was taking my bike in to get a new set of tires the following day and didn't want to leave the mechanic with a mess of mud and leaves to deal with. Fall can be harsh. I know I don't really need to do this, but I always feel as if the more attractive I make the bike to work on, the better job a mechanic will do. Changing tires on a mud-crusted rim can't be a good thing. Being fall it gets dark around 4:20pm now, not leaving any daylight hours after work for such missions of cleanliness. And so what is usually a simple task turns into a ceremony of rarefied acts under cover of darkness. Add some misty rain and biting cold and you've got a test of faith to separate the true believers. Then it started to hail.

We had rain all day today and a thunderstorm — a thunderstorm, in November! — this evening. Weather makes traffic even worse, so I commuted via public transportation. It took me two hours to travel 12 miles home via train and bus. Waiting between transfers, I thought the R12R could have handled this weather. But not me, apparently. Supposed to be 60 and sunny tomorrow.

You're a braver man than I. Need to clean my wheels this weekend.

My bike isn't that dirty but if you needed more exercise I could ride it over the next time you get your bucket out, and I would greatly appreciate the cleaning

@ Websterize It's not like i was riding in the hail... but i did a reality check why i was out there. One of those 'past the point of no return' stubborn moments.

@ bobskoot Bob - sure! but then i might pull a switch on you and get you to help clean the eaves or something - he he .

P.S. ~ The tires were successfully installed but there hasn't been 5 min without rain for me to break them in. The Pilot Road II actually look quite different from the Pilot Road I (much rounder shape) so i'm looking forward to trying them out.

When I had my SV I had Pilot powers installed. I actually rode home in the rain. Bayside Performance put them on and told me that they had a lot of grip and were better than the bald ones they replaced. I don't know the tread pattern of the Pilot Roads but they are probably fine.

PS: I just had my eaves done and I paid someone to do it. I just don't feel that confident on the roof bending backwards. I nearly slipped the last time
